Variations that survive the argument
The email asking for the change, the reply agreeing a price, the revised drawing — all on the job, in order, with dates. When it is questioned three months later, the record is the answer.
Subcontractors on the job, not in a folder
Each subcontractor is a company with its contacts, its quotes and its invoices attached to the job it was engaged for. Who was asked, who answered, what was agreed, what has been paid.
Certificates chased without remembering to
A checklist per job names what has to be collected — insurance, certificates, sign-offs — what counts as done and how long it may take. It watches the mail and marks the step when the document arrives.
Costs reconciled at the end instead of as they land
Supplier and subcontractor invoices become payables on the job that generated them, checked for duplicates and for changed bank details, approved by whoever your limits name, and tracked until the money moves.

Fair questions
No. It does not price work, measure drawings or hold a rate library. It holds the job once it exists — the correspondence, the variations, the documents, the subcontractors and the money — which is the part currently spread across an inbox and a folder.
No Gantt and no critical path. There are dates, tasks and checklists that follow a job to the end, but a contractor who plans in dedicated software should keep planning there.
The desktop app is Windows, macOS and Linux, and mail reaches the job wherever it is sent from — so somebody emailing photos from site is already contributing to the record. There is no dedicated mobile app today.
By making the record boring. The request, the agreement, the revised drawing and the invoice are on one job with their dates, so what was agreed is something you show rather than something you argue.
